Throughout the course, we have learned that technology has revolutionized art and artists. With more access to inspiration, mediums, and consumers, artists can create art like never before. Before the internet, I think it is safe to assume that people were only able to consume their own culture. To experience other cultures and countries required resources that were not accessible to the general public. However, the internet is able to bring these people from around the world together to experience or create. An artist in America can use the internet to connect with an artist in Albania to make a one-of-a-kind piece. Moreover, these pieces can be consumed by nearly everyone. An art enthusiast in Algeria can see this piece and find some way to connect. Art does not care what culture you come from, because as long as you look, you’ll be able to find something within the piece that resonates with you. While all the artists were interesting to learn about, there were a few in particular whose art resonated with me, in one way or another. These three artists utilized technology to bring together the traditional looks of women with futuristic narratives.
